As a fascia specialist, a therapist or a movement practitioner, your work has immense value to your clients, it can transform their lives and open new opportunities for them. Yet, as a business owner, focusing on making a difference to the members of your community, you may struggle to achieve your business goals. Even the most skilled and experienced practitioners, may fall into the scarcity mindset trap. This belief system linked to fear and self-doubt limits your ability to build a thriving practice and achieve financial and personal fulfilment. Shifting to an abundance mindset can revolutionise your business and personal life. In this blog, I would like to explain the difference between the two and share a few steps you can take to start your mindset transformation to set you up for success in 2025.
Understanding the Scarcity Mindset
Running your practice may bring uncertainty and doubt. Focusing on the economic situation in the world can lead you to the scarcity mindset, run by fear and self-doubt. You may have thoughts like:
- I don’t have enough clients, but the market is saturated.
- People can’t afford my services.
- Collaborating with other practitioners means I will lose clients.
These limiting beliefs restrict your thinking and decision-making. They can cause anxiety, worry, and stress, paralyse your action-taking and even lead to burnout.
What Is the Abundance Mindset?
Stephen Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People popularized the abundance mindset, promoting the idea of viewing resources and opportunities as plentiful. From a holistic perspective, Deepak Chopra’s The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success highlights how building inner wealth transcends material accumulation.
Embracing the abundance mindset means focusing on opportunities and building your self-belief:
- There are enough clients for everyone.
- I can attract clients who value my work.
- Collaborating with others creates future opportunities.
This perspective empowers you to make strategic decisions, gain clients and create a thriving practice.
Coaching Techniques to Cultivate an Abundance Mindset
Cultivating an abundance mindset isn’t about ignoring challenges. It’s about recognising and reframing them as well as taking action and building positive habits. Here are practical steps to help you transition:
1. Recognize and Challenge Limiting Beliefs
Start by identifying negative, limiting thoughts related to your success, money and abilities. For example: are you undercharging because you believe clients won’t pay more? Are you holding back from marketing your services because of the fear of rejection or judgment?
Once you catch your thoughts/beliefs, write them down and question their validity – are they true? Always? Replace them with abundance affirmations.
For example:
- Scarcity thought: “No one will pay £100 for a session.”
- Reframe: “People invest in what they value, and my work creates real transformation.”
2. Build Daily Gratitude and Affirmations Practice
Gratitude can quickly shift your focus from what’s lacking in your life and/or business to what’s abundant. Commit to writing down three things that you are grateful for at the beginning or the end of each day: an uplifting conversation with a client, the flexibility of running your own business, or having a car that allowed you to do a home visit to your loyal clients, etc.
You may also want to choose to practise affirmations, such as: ‘I am skilled and resourceful’, ‘I am worthy of success’, ‘I am thriving and successful’, and ‘I have everything that I need to achieve success’. Affirmations work best when you say them out loud daily.
3. Visualise your success
Create a vivid picture of what abundance looks like for you. Envision a thriving practice, meaningful client relationships, and financial security.
You may want to go through a sequence of events during your Ideal working day to help you visualise success:
- How are you starting your day? (time for planning, self-care or meaningful connections)
- How do you feel entering your practice?
- What does your practice look like? (fresh paint on the wall/ comfortable chairs for clients to wait)
- Who are your clients? What pains or symptoms are you treating during your working day?
- How are you finishing your day? (checking satisfying financial results and a diary full of clients)
Regular visualization helps align your actions with your goals, making them feel more achievable.
4. Build Your Tribe
Scarcity thrives in isolation while abundance flourishes in community. Connect with other therapists or practitioners to cross-refer clients, exchange your views on the market, get second opinions and support each other. These partnerships will help you network and grow yourself professionally.

Adopting an abundance mindset doesn’t just transform your business, it impacts your clients and community. When you show up with confidence, clarity, and generosity, you attract like-minded individuals who resonate with your energy.
