Webinar Outline:
Defining the meaning and the limits of stretching in exercise can be ambiguous. Join Lisa
Babiuk to explore the limits and the consequences of going beyond the limit of
physiological range of motion and anatomical range of motion and explore the applications
of tension-compression forces to “stretch” myofascial tissues in their auxetic nature.
Always a robust discussion in exercise modalities, the benefits of stretching whether
dynamic or static have typically come from a biomechanical model. When we reframe the
discussion around fascia and the forces of tension-compression, and suspend what we
know, exploration through simple movement can give us another perspective. In the end
the benefits for our clients far outweigh a right or wrong outcome.
