Summary:

Has a client ever started to move spontaneously during a session with you?  Do you try and stop that movement or do you allow it?

Fascial Unwinding describes the way the body may initiate movements that are sometimes odd and inexplicable, but why is it doing this?

Your role as the therapist is to hold the space and keep the client safe as they move – how do you do this?

And does this unusual movement have any science behind it to explain what is happening?

Carol M. Davis, Sue Hitzmann and Yasmin Lambat bring their considerable joint expertise to the table, to discuss and demonstrate this remarkable therapy/self-care method, exploring the science and the experience.

Fascial Unwinding is seen by many as being in the realms of ‘woo-woo’; i.e. not scientific enough to have validity. Because of the unusual, spontaneous movement that can arise during the process plus the apparent lack of science supporting this work, it can deter people who, on all other levels, are on board with the importance of addressing fascia in therapy and movement. Yet, Fascial Unwinding is a therapy in good standing with the many practitioners who understand the power of this light touch approach.

In this three-hour online webinar, renowned educators and presenters Carol M. Davis and Sue Hitzmann take us on a journey into the why, what and how of Fascial Unwinding, looking at the scientific theory behind it and discussing the topic between them and with any of the audience who would like to bring their questions to the webinar.

Yasmin Lambat, founder of SomaSensing, whose teaching/coaching work is fully based on FU, takes us into an experiential session: Fascial Unwinding – The body’s innate way of healing in motion.

The webinar will finish with an Advisory Panel with all three presenters available to take questions.

In her workshops and coaching services, Yasmin draws on the latest research and best practices in the field to provide a practical embodied experience for integrating somatic movement therapy and somatic practices into participants' lives.

Yasmin will present an experiential session: Fascial Unwinding – The body’s innate way of healing in motion. You will need a yoga mat and a little space to move.

Fascial Unwinding is how the body moves intuitively to heal and recover.  When the body is in a state of rest, we shift our frequency. Allowing natural movement patterns, to emerge effortlessly. Movements that follow the living geometry of our form. Often spiral in nature like pandiculation, swaying, pulsing, rocking, coaxing, bouncing and oscillating.  Learning how to bring the body to a quiet healing frequency, lies at the heart of the practice.  Either through touch if you are a manual therapist or somatic awareness as a movement therapist.

Yasmin will share the essential principles of learning how to “rest and come to quiet”. How to tap into the sensory nature of fascia and access embodied blueprints. Experience the energetic property of this soft tissue matrix and how it responds and communicates with the lightest sensation.

Discover the hidden potential for healing and recovery of fascial unwinding.
