SUMMARY

Chronic, non-specific, low back pain is an international public health problem with significant economic and social consequences. It is now the leading cause of disability worldwide, with major consequences for adults' quality of life and productivity.

It is a multifactorial condition with no known organic cause. However, it has been established that psychosocial factors play a major role in its chronicity.

Recommended treatments are based on physical exercise, advice, and non-drug interventions. In this context, research into fascia and into manual and gestural fascia therapies offers new perspectives for managing this problem.

This webinar will provide participants with knowledge about the links between fascia, body perception and low back pain, as well as an overview of research on fascia therapies for low back pain. Through a practical movement session, participants will experience different types of sensorial movement of the spine, with three objectives:

  1. To feel the flexibility and suppleness of the spine
  2. To optimize proprioceptive and interoceptive awareness of the fascia
  3. To perceive a state of mental and emotional relaxation.

What can participants expect?

Participants will have the opportunity to better understand the role of fascia in body perception and its implication in low back pain.

They also will experience Sensorial Fascia Training which is a global and integrative movement. We work the spine in this perspective as a part of the whole-body movement.

Note: All monthly member webinars are made available in the membership section a couple of days after the event.
