Webinar Outline:

This live Zoom webinar, this month run by Jing for us will examine how Eastern bodywork systems based on acupuncture points and meridians have a scientific anatomical basis in the fascial system.

What you will learn:

During our launch webinar Jing will talk you through:

  • An overview of meridian systems in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Thai massage and their anatomical relevance to intermuscular fascial planes.
  • Powerful acupressure points for the treatment of common chronic musculoskeletal disorders including low back pain and neck and shoulder pain.
  • How the concept of blockages in ‘qi’ related to areas of altered fascial composition.
  • Relevant scientific research showing the parallels between Eastern theory and Western knowledge of fascia.

During this webinar, a hands-on model for integrating both Eastern and Western thinking into bodywork clinical practice will be proposed and you will leave the Zoom call with a range of dynamic new approaches that you can incorporate into your clinical practice.

Presenter Bio:

Jing was founded in 2003 by directors Rachel Fairweather and Meghan Mari, who met in New York City as massage therapists.  Their aim was to start a revolution in massage therapy in the UK, providing advanced massage training available in other countries such as the USA.  In 2003 the Jing team ran 3 short weekend workshops in these cutting edge techniques including trigger point therapy, myofascial release, advanced stretching and hot stone massage. The feedback was phenomenal and today the team now offer 30 CPD courses and several longer advanced postgraduate qualifications including our acclaimed degree level BTEC level 6 in advanced clinical and sports massage.  Rachel and Meghan are sought after guest lecturers and we are delighted they are here today to lead our first ever members webinar!
