SUMMARY

A seasonal gift from The Fascia Hub

Every December, The Fascia Hub opens one of our normally members-only webinars to everyone, inviting our wider community to join us for something a little different.

This year, we're delighted to welcome Elizabeth Dare Andes for Spinning Light Into Flesh, an experiential exploration of fascia, sensory awareness and our relationship with the living body.

Fascia is increasingly recognised for its importance in movement, sensation and the ways different parts of our bodies communicate. But what happens when we move beyond understanding these connections intellectually and begin to explore them through direct experience?

Drawing on somatic movement, breath, sound and contemplative traditions, Elizabeth invites us to consider the relationship between physical sensation, awareness and our sense of being present in the world.

Her approach brings together ideas from fascia, embodied perception and philosophy, encouraging us to explore what it means to feel connected, not only within our own bodies, but with the world around us.

This will be a participatory session, with gentle movement, sensory exploration and opportunities for reflection. There will be space to experience, question and discover, rather than simply listen.

We hope you'll join us for this special seasonal gathering. The webinar is free and everyone is welcome.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This will be a gentle, participatory session combining conversation and guided exploration.

Together, we'll:

  • Begin with conversation and shared reflection.
  • Explore simple movements to become more comfortable and present in our bodies.
  • Experiment with sensory awareness through our hands and feet.
  • Practise deep listening and explore our connection with the heart.
  • Use movement, breath and sound to explore embodied awareness and a sense of connection.

No specialist knowledge is required. You're invited to participate at your own pace and discover what feels meaningful to you.

HOW TO PREPARE

Find somewhere comfortable where you have room to move.

Elizabeth suggests having a yoga mat, pillows, blankets or other props available so you can create a comfortable space for the movement explorations.

You might also like to have a journal, pen and some coloured pencils or crayons nearby to capture any thoughts or reflections.

Note: The replay will be available to all until 10th January 2027 after which it will be archived into our member area.
